“Our five year mission–to eat all the sandwiches”
It started as a few guys talking about sandwiches on Twitter.
Now it’s a few guys talking about sandwiches on a website.
The idea behind this site is to explore the nature of sandwichness by eating every sandwich on the Official en.wikipedia.org List of Sandwiches and then to post here about it, preferably with lots of pictures and also words. Sandwich words.
Some of these sandwiches are not the kind of thing you can just pick up at your local Sandwich Emporium. Some of them have exotic and unfamiliar ingredients. We may have to improvise sometimes. We may mess it up. But hopefully it will be delicious. If we miss delicious, hopefully we’ll hit educational. Very possibly we’ll bypass both of those and it will be disastrous and/or funny.
In early 2020, we finished our alphabetical pass through the Wikipedia List of Sandwiches. But of course, Wikipedia pages change frequently, and new sandwiches had been added. We also discovered sandwiches on our own that Wikipedia doesn’t yet acknowledge. We’re still trying and writing about new sandwiches, and will be at least through the Spring of 2022. Then, who knows? Something tells us there will always be more sandwiches to discover though.
Addendum: We are now in the closing weeks of 2021, the List has been extended well into 2023, and I feel silly saying this to you people but: This is not a business. We do not sell sandwiches. We do not sell anything. We are not affiliated with any restaurants or importers or food companies of any kind. Essentially, we don’t make any money doing this. I don’t even have a Patreon or GoFundMe or anything to help cover the costs of hosting, much less ingredients, travel, & other expenses. This is 100% a passion project.
So look, I’m not the guy to talk to if you’re angry about Hardee’s changing the ham they use in the Hot Ham & Cheese sandwich. Google will be a better resource for you in finding a local place to buy pan de miga: I don’t even know where you live! While I have worked in fast food it has mostly been of the flipping burgers/washing dishes variety–I can’t tutor you on the practical aspects of opening such a business in your locality. And I will absolutely not publish your sponsored content.
Still, I love reading all your comments and feedback, even when they’re telling me I got something wrong, even when they’re telling me that my photos are disgusting and my writing isn’t very interesting. So keep ’em coming. But jeez, people. I’m just a schmuck with a website.
That list doesn’t have vastedda on it!
Signed, A Sad NY Sicilian
Please tell me about vastedda! I’ll be sure to try it!
Better yet, add it to the Wikipedia list. There’ll be plenty of time before we get to the Vs!

What an awesome idea! I’m definitely intrigued and looking forward to reading your posts!
This is fantastic. I didn’t even know Wikipedia had a sandwich list, let alone devotees. Keep on chowing down!

This is a great site I stumbled upon while searching for ways to perfect my reuben sandwich and find out more about marmite. I enjoyed the heck out of all the things I read and the interesting history into some of them. Excellent work!
