October List Sandwiches and September Wrapup
Greeting, sandwich people! Welcome to October 2019, and the latest chapter of the Sandwich Tribunal. This month we have three new, alphabetically-ordered yet thematically-linked sandwiches to try. At least one of these things ought to be good, right? Right? We’ll see. But first let’s recap September. September was the first month of the 6th year of the Tribunal’s existence, and we were a little extravagant in our exploration of sandwiches last month. We started off by traveling to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where a good friend and seasoned vegetarian introduced us to the delights of the TLT, or Tempeh, Lettuce, and Tomato sandwich. It was a great trip, thanks again Jeb! Next we enjoyed a tea party at home, with the accompanying cakes and finger sandwiches. We may have messed up nearly every recipe but it still turned out well. Finally, we took a longer trip and explored the culinary delights that Baltimore had to offer, including an Italian deli panini called The Scooch.
What a month! So what awaits us in October?
We start off in a less than promising way, with the toast sandwich. This is literally a slice of toasted bread between two slices of buttered, untoasted bread. Maybe it’ll surprise us. Next up is Toast Hawaii, a German snack consisting of ham, pineapple, and melted cheese on toast. Should be a big hit. Finally, there’s the English toastie, aka yet another grilled cheese sandwich post. I don’t have a Breville, but I’ve got a cheap knockoff, and it’ll do. It’ll do.
Should be a few good sandwiches to be had this month. Anybody out there have any special connection to any of them they’d like to share with us and the world? Get in touch! You could be the next guest author on the Sandwich Tribunal!
Changes to the List
Nothing major, just some housecleaning type edits to individual pages, no real additions or removals to speak of.
The idea behind this site is to explore the nature of sandwichness by eating every sandwich on the Official en.wikipedia.org List of Sandwiches and then to post here about it, preferably with lots of pictures and also words. Sandwich words.
