May List Sandwiches and April Wrapup
Hello readers, welcome to another month at Sandwich Tribunal! May has three new sandwiches for us to try, and I feel both excitement and trepidation going into this. But first, let’s talk about April.
April’s sandwiches gave us some surprises–we tried some interesting variations on the classic S’more, found a sandwich cake in the form of the Swedish Smörgåstårta that we actually enjoyed eating, and ate our way through several variants of the Danish open-faced Smørrebrød. It was a month of DIY projects for the most part, and quite a bit of effort went into making the sandwiches look good for the camera. (Don’t worry, they tasted good too!)
But now it’s time to present our May sandwiches
In May we’ll be revisiting the Danish Smørrebrød in the form of Sol over Gudhjem, one of several named variants of the style. We may take the opportunity to try a few other types that we missed the first time around. We’ll also be digging in to some Greek Souvlaki, marinated meat chunks on a skewer, served on a pita with some garnishes. And, yes, we’ll be doing the carb-on-carb thing again with Spaghetti sandwiches, which are apparently a thing.
As always, if someone out there feels strongly about one of these sandwiches, we’d love to hear what you have to say, so let us know!
Changes to the List
Minor edits were made in April and no real new additions, though Hot Dog was added back to the List as another volley in the neverending debate. Hey, it’s a sandwich to us!
The idea behind this site is to explore the nature of sandwichness by eating every sandwich on the Official en.wikipedia.org List of Sandwiches and then to post here about it, preferably with lots of pictures and also words. Sandwich words.
